Elon Musk's CV is one page. How long is yours?

Applying for a job can be daunting for anyone when the stakes are high. We want everything to be perfect, especially our curriculum vitae, commonly shortened and called CV. The need to put every achievement and highlight every skill in a manner which will outshine the others can be a strenuous act.

In his CV, Elon Musk successfully highlights every skill, position and achievement all the while keeping the length of the document to a single page. He mentions in an interview that he believes that including managerial positions are "totally unnecessary" and that he has "never needed more than one page".

In moments like these, the guidance of those with experience and a secured footing in the corporate world can come in handy. With the help of Novoresumé, we are given the opportunity to dive into the resume of Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and many other reputable companies.

So what is it that he includes on his one page cv?

The billionaire advices applicants to use a very minimalistic format which enables the individual to maximize the amount of information they can put onto the page.  The cv should paint a clear picture of one's skills, training and experiences as well as interests and competencies. Education, achievements and language proficiencies must also be added with the years and duration included next to each detail.

The most important take away from this is that a resume should reflect an individual's potential in the simplest way possible. With the knowledge of how billionaires put their CVs together, the next time you do yours, the task will be a little less intimidating.
