Planning a baby nursery can be a fun as well as an overwhelming task for would-be-parents. With such a wide range of items available, it becomes quite difficult to choose the right one for the nursery. Getting started with a few basic items for the nursery will act as a foreground to add more items as needed in accordance with the parents' needs.

One of the most important nursery essentials is the baby's crib. It is very important to choose a proper crib as it ensures the baby's safety. Drop-side cribs should be avoided due to safety issues, as sleeping babies tend to fall down from the opening on the crib's side.
Keeping an organizing shelf in the nursery will make it easier for the expectant parents to sort out items such as the baby's clothes, diapers and toys. A basket on the side is a great addition for housing extra blankets and loose toys. Another important furniture is a comfortable breastfeeding chair, which is equally important for the mother and baby.

"We have tried to decorate our son Rayyan's room in a simple, yet tidy manner. The crib, shelves and everything else we chose for the nursery were rather modern. Recently, we added some wall decors and posters of cartoon characters as Rayan has started to take a liking to those," said Rudaba Adnin Shama, mother of toddler Rayyan.

Attaching nursery mobiles to the crib can help babies fall asleep faster or entertain them while they are awake. Nursery mobiles with soft toy attachments are safer for the baby as it reduces the chances of them getting hurt while playing with the toys.

After selecting proper accessories, parents need to focus on designing a soothing interior for the nursery.

Which color should I choose for the walls? Is it going to be too bright? These are the most common questions in the parents' minds before designing a toddler's nursery. Orange or subtle yellow shades have gained popularity in recent times, but baby pink or sky blue are timeless classics.

Hanging the right drapes is very important to make a nursery look and feel airy. Since parents do not want their baby's slumber to be uninterrupted, most parents opt for drapes with a dark lining underneath that will block out sunlight. Focusing on proper lighting also makes the room feel warmer and more soothing for the newborn baby.
