BGMEA Padel Cup 2025 concludes with awards ceremony in Dhaka

The BGMEA Padel Cup 2025 concluded yesterday (29 November) with an awards ceremony at the Bashundhara Padel Tennis Ground, where Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan attended as chief guest.

The two-day tournament brought together 19 teams across beginner and advanced categories, reads a press release.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Vice-President Md Rezowan Selim encouraged players at the start of the final day's matches, while board members Shah Raeed Chowdhury, Mohammad Abdur Rahim, Aseph Kamal Pasha, Mohammad Sohel, Sakif Ahmed Salam, Sports Committee Chairman Md Sajjad Ali Khan and Co-chair M Ishfaq Ahsan were present on stage.

This was the first padel tournament organised by BGMEA, initiated and supervised by Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury. Several BGMEA directors also took part in the competition.

In the beginner category, the champions were Team C, comprising Fahim Faisal of Fahim Textile Mills Ltd and Ahnaf Abtahi Amin.

The runners-up were Team D, made up of Wasif Ahmed Salam of Cotonex Fashions Ltd and Rahabar Rehan Ahmed.

In the advanced category, Team E — featuring Ahmed Al Salman of Jalal Hats & Apparels Ltd and Nasaf Ahmed Nasir of Voyager Apparels Ltd — secured the championship.

The runners-up were Team C, represented by M Ishfaq Ahsan of Ahsan Apparels Ltd and Aswad Ahnaf Khan of Graphics Textile Ltd.

Presenting the prizes, the sports adviser praised BGMEA's efforts to promote sports and strengthen community engagement within the apparel sector.

Shah Raeed Chowdhury said the event was organised to boost motivation and enhance bonding among members of the industry.
