Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club, TMGB ink MoU to boost tech news collaboration
Speakers at the event expressed optimism that the MoU would help build stronger bridges between the peoples of both nations
The Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club and the Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening the exchange of technology-related news and fostering closer cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
The signing ceremony took place today (26 August) at the Dhaka office of CMG Bangla, where Olivia Qu signed on behalf of Apon Media Club and TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin represented the guild, reads a press release.
Joining virtually, Anandi Yu, head of CMG's Bangla Service, said the agreement would play a crucial role in promoting information exchange and global networking, while further deepening the friendship between the two countries.
Highlighting the growing role of advanced tools such as artificial intelligence and mobile journalism in modern reporting, Mohammad Kawsar Uddin noted that Bangladesh's media professionals could gain significantly from China's expertise.
Speakers at the event expressed optimism that the MoU would help build stronger bridges between the peoples of both nations. They also discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as information sharing, training initiatives, and professional development for journalists.
Among others, TMGB Vice President Kumar Bishwajit Roy, General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid, and Organizing Secretary Md. Golam Dustogir Touhid were present.
The Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club was launched in December 2024, while TMGB, an association of technology journalists in Bangladesh, has been active since 2019 in promoting professional excellence in the sector.
