Cyclone Amphan batters Sundarbans
The amount of damage has been expected to increase many times

Severe cyclonic storm Amphan wreaked havoc on the Sundarbans as it hit the coastlines of West Bengal and Bangladesh on Wednesday afternoon.
Hundreds of trees of the world's largest mangrove forest were damaged by the ferocious storm, reports Anandabazar.
Cyclone Amphan hit the Sundarbans at an alarming speed around 6 pm on Wednesday.
Kolkata and nearby areas are seeing winds of over 100 kmph and pounding rain after cyclone Amphan, one of the worst storms over the Bay of Bengal in years.
Three people have died, many trees were uprooted and some buildings in Kolkata were damaged.
The situation in Howrah, Hooghly and West Midnapore is also dire, however, news of thousands of houses and trees being damaged has been coming from all these districts of West Bengal.
