Indian onion starts entering Bangladesh through Bhomra port
Indian government has permitted the export of 25,000 metric tonnes of onions through three ports, including Bhomra
Indian onion has started to enter through Bhomra port at around 12 pm today after four days of suspension in a row.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Mohsin Honer, customs revenue officer of the Bhomra port, said that three trucks have entered till 1pm.
"Only trucks with permission and completed documents will be able to cross the border loaded with onions," said Maqsood Khan, treasurer of the Bhomra C&F Agents Association.

Mostafizur Rahman Nasim, general secretary of the Bhomra C&F Agents Association, said, "There are some 40-45 onion trucks, those have required permission. Besides, 125 more trucks of onions are stuck in India."
The consignment was set to be exported to Bangladesh before the sudden onion export ban imposed by the Indian government.
