Tk2.25 lakh crore ADP for FY22 gets primary nod
The Planning Commission primarily approved the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for fiscal 2021-22 at a meeting presided over by Planning Minister MA Mannan on Sunday.
The size of this year's ADP stands at Tk2,25,324 crore, of which Tk1,37,299 crore will be provided from government funds and around Tk88,024 crore from foreign assistance.
The proposed ADP will be tabled at a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) for final approval. The meeting will be held this month, said sources at the Planning Commission.

A review shows that the proposed ADP, which involves 1,308 projects, is 9.84% larger than the original ADP of the current fiscal year and 14% larger than the revised ADP.
The FY22 ADP also has about 1,000 new unapproved projects, which will be given approval on a priority basis.
The autonomous agencies and corporations will implement projects involving Tk11,469 crore and with these projects, the total ADP becomes Tk2,36,793 crore.
The ADP allocation for the health sector has not increased much even amid the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. The allocation for FY22 is 7.68% of the ADP; it was 7.55% in the revised ADP for the current financial year.
The sectors that received the highest allocations in the upcoming ADP include transport and communications with 27.39%, power and energy (20.36%), housing and community benefits (10.54%), and education (10.29%).
The social security sector has received the lowest allocation among the 15 sectors with just 0.73% of the ADP.
