Walton to invest Tk113.66cr in lithium-ion battery project

Walton has decided to invest Tk113.66 crore in the Lithium-Ion Battery Cell Project.
On 27 April, Walton's board took the initiative to establish a sophisticated manufacturing facility to produce high-quality lithium-ion cells, reduce reliance on imports, and offer competitively priced locally manufactured products, according to the company's statement filed on the Dhaka bourse.
Commercial production under the project is expected to begin by mid-2026.
