Equity indices of the stock exchanges reported positive trends in the early hour of the trading session on Tuesday despite witnessing the sell-off pressures from quick profit booking.

DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.33% to reach 6,033 points till 11 am.

DSE turnover in the corresponding period rose 7% to Tk578.94 crore.

Meanwhile, the prime bourse had 149 gainers against 166 losers, while prices of 51 scrips remained unchanged.

National Polymer, a PVC pipe and door manufacturing company, grabbed the top position on the DSE turnover chart, with trade worth Tk43.29 crore, followed by Beximco Limited and Pragati Insurance.

Besides, Rupali Bank made it to the top position of the gainers' list with a 10% price hike in shares, while Family Tex was among the top losers in the first trading hour at the DSE.

The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained 16 points to close at 17,481 on 11:00 am.
