Mirza Yasser Abbas to gift 3.13cr Dhaka Bank shares to his mother

Mirza Yasser Abbas, a director on the board of Dhaka Bank PLC, has expressed his intention to transfer 3.13 crore shares of the bank to his mother, Afroza Abbas, who is a sponsor shareholder of the bank.
According to a disclosure published on the stock exchange's website today (5 October), the transfer will be executed by way of gift and carried out outside the trading system of the Dhaka Stock Exchange by 31 October 2025.
The value of the shares is estimated at around Tk36.34 crore, based on Dhaka Bank's closing share price of Tk11.60 each on Sunday.
As per the bank's 2024 annual report, Mirza Yasser Abbas held 5,00,73,650 shares of Dhaka Bank.
Out of the bank's total 105.69 crore shares, sponsor-directors hold 40.98%, institutional investors 12.04%, and the general public 46.98%, according to data from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
