The Dhaka Stock Exchange has awarded fix certification to four brokerage houses to help them offer value-added services to their investors.

Sattique Ahmed Shah, DSE's chief financial officer and chief operating officer (in-charge), handed over the certificates to Prudential Capital Limited, Relief Exchange Limited, Royal Capital Limited and Shelltech Brokerage Limited at an event on Sunday.

In 2021, the DSE took an initiative to launch application programming interface (API) based order management system (OMS).

A total of 52 brokerage houses applied to the DSE to transact through its own OMS with API connectivity to Nasdaq matching engine.
Already nine brokerage houses have received fix certification while six have started trading through their own OMS.

Tariqul Islam, the bourse's chief technology officer (in charge), explained that the central OMS of the DSE has specific features that are consistent with all the users.

Brokers can offer value-added services to their investors through a broker-hosted OMS according to their preferences, he added.

"Achieving fix certification is the great achievement for us. It will help us serve our clients confidently," said Mesbah Uddin Khan, chief executive officer at Sheltech Brokerage Limited.

Sattique Ahmed said, "The DSE completed 71 years on Sunday. So, it is a very meaningful and glorious day in the history of the capital market."

"I am pleased to award DSE FIX certification to the four brokerage houses," he said.

In these 71 years, the Dhaka bourse has been a modern stock exchange from a traditional one, he added.
