Dhaka Insurance recommends 10% cash dividend for 2024

Dhaka Insurance, a non-life insurer in the country, has recommended a 10% cash dividend for its shares for 2024.
The recommended dividend is 7% lower compared to 2023 as it paid 17% cash dividend to its shareholders.
Due to lower dividend recommendation, shares price of Dhaka Insurance declined by 7.58% or TK2.7 each to Tk32.90 each at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today.
The insurer today published its annual financials and dividend on the stock exchanges website.
According to its disclosure, the insurer reported an earnings per share (EPS) of Tk2.41, which is lower form Tk2.84 in 2023.
At the end of December 2024, the company's net asset value per share, including revaluation, stood at Tk35.65, while its net operating cash flow per share was Tk0.84—up from Tk34.59 and Tk0.18, respectively, in 2023.
The company scheduled its annual general meeting (AGM) on 7 August through the digital platform, and to identify its shareholders, record date has been fixed on 10 July.
Meanwhile, the insurer also published its first quarter financials for the period of January to March of 2024. During the period, it has reported an EPS of Tk0.50, which is lower from Tk0.83 in the same time of the previous year.
Dhaka Insurance said that its EPS declined due to a shortfall in premium income during the quarter compared to the corresponding period of same quarter in the previous year.
