BAT Bangladesh Q2 profit drops 81%, revenue plunges 23% amid Dhaka factory shutdown
Its profit for the quarter stood at Tk97 crore, down from Tk512 crore a year earlier

BAT Bangladesh has reported an 81% drop in net profit and a 23% decline in revenue for the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.
According to the company's unaudited financial statement, profit for the quarter stood at Tk97 crore, down from Tk512 crore a year earlier. Revenue fell to Tk2,213 crore from Tk2,891 crore in the same period.
For the first half of 2025, the company recorded a net profit of Tk415 crore, with earnings per share (EPS) at Tk7.69.
In its statement, the company attributed the decline in revenue and profit to higher inflationary pressures and the temporary closure of its Dhaka factory.
