Faruque Hassan-led new office bearers of BGMEA take charge

The newly elected office bearers of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) led by its president Faruque Hassan took charge of the trade body for two years for the term 2021-2023.

Outgoing board of directors handed over the responsibility to the new office bearers at a programme held at the PR and Media cell of BGMEA in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The new first vice-president of BGMEA is Syed Nazrul Islam and senior vice-president SM Mannan (Kochi). The vice-presidents are Md Shahidullah Azim, Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, Md Nasir Uddin, Miran Ali, and Rakibul Alam Chowdhury.

The other board of directors are -- Rubana Huq, MA Rahim (Feroz), Arshad Jamal (Dipu), Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu), Shehrin Salam Oishee, Asif Ashraf, Md Mohiuddin Rubel, Asif Ibrahim, Tanvir Ahmed, Md Khosru Chowdhury, Faisal Samad, Abdullah Hil Rakib, Haroon Ar Rashid, Navidul Huq, Rajiv Chowdhury, Vidiya Amrit Khan, Inamul Haq Khan (Bablu), Md Imranur Rahman, Mijanur Rahman, Md Sajjadur Rahman Mridha (Shipon), Md M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Mohammed Abdus Salam, Tanvir Habib, AM Shafiul Karim (Khokon), Md Hassan (Jacky), M Ahsanul Hoq, and Mohammed Meraj-E-Mostafa (Kaisar).

Earlier on 4 April, Sammilito Parishad, led by Faruque Hassan, won the biennial election, securing 24 posts of directors out of 35. His rival ABM Shamsuddin-led Forum panel secured 11 director posts.
