The factory will produce pails, pharma containers, canisters, food packaging, medical plastics such as blood bags, and industrial drums.

OptimaPlast Industries (Private) Limited will establish a state-of-the-art technology factory at the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) with fully robotic AI-integrated machines and dust-free European technology floors.
The factory will produce pails, pharma containers, canisters, food packaging, medical plastics such as blood bags, and industrial drums.
The initial investment is nearly USD3.96 million (Tk90–100 crore). The project will create jobs for around 220 people and aims to start production within eight months of taking possession of the land.
The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza) and OptimaPlast Industries signed a land lease agreement for three acres at NSEZ in a ceremony at Beza headquarters in Dhaka today (23 September).
Md Omar Faruque, general manager of OptimaPlast Industries, told The Business Standard, "We have completed the land lease with Beza. Work will start immediately after possession. The factory will meet high-quality production standards and serve diverse industrial needs."
Established in 1994 in Chattogram as Reliance Can Industry (Pvt) Ltd, the company is a leading producer of rigid plastic products and packaging solutions, with an annual turnover of about Tk96 crore.
The NSEZ project will produce plastic bottles, lubricant and paint containers, buckets, lids, caps, PET preforms, PET jars, as well as medical items and garment accessories.
Saleh Ahmad, additional secretary and Beza executive member (Investment Development), said, "The NSEZ provides unique opportunities for investors. This backward linkage investment will diversify production and create industrial synergy."
OptimaPlast Managing Director GM Ekramul Haque added, "We are committed to establishing the factory as quickly as possible. Our goal is to build a self-sufficient industrial plant to meet the demands of other enterprises operating in the economic zone."
The lease agreement was signed by Beza Executive Member Saleh Ahmad and OptimaPlast MD GM Ekramul Haque on behalf of their organisations.
The NSEZ, Bangladesh's largest economic zone, covers 33,805 acres across Sitakunda and Mirsharai in Chattogram and Sonagazi in Feni. It is being developed by Beza. Currently, about 14 industrial enterprises are operational within the zone, and an additional 20 facilities are under construction.
