Bangladesh’s construction market likely to hit over $41b by 2028: Study

The country's construction market is expected to grow from $30.38 billion in 2023 to $41.47 billion by 2028, according to Meherun N Islam, president and group managing director of CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific.

She shared the information citing their research at the inauguration of the Build and Power Series of Exhibitions at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka today (14 November).

CEMS-Global USA, a leading international exhibition organiser, organised the 29th Build Bangladesh Int'l Expo 2024, 23rd Real Estate Expo 2024, 26th Power Bangladesh 2024 International Expo, 21st Solar Bangladesh 2024 International Expo, 6th Dhaka International Lighting Expo 2024 and 6th Water Bangladesh Expo 2024 on 14-16 November. 

The exhibitions are open for visitors from 10:30am to 8pm daily.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Meherun said it is understood that the construction sector is a driving force behind the economic progress of Bangladesh. These multisectoral exhibitions will enhance the possibility of increasing B2B connection in all the sectors, she said.

Meherun emphasised on how the exhibitions will continue to position Bangladesh as a global player in the real estate, renewable energy and infrastructure sector. 

Organisers said significant growth is observed in the real estate and construction sector. The real estate sector is now working on 6,000 ongoing projects worth Tk150,000 crore investment, they said.

SS Sarwar, Group CEO of CEMS-Global USA, Tanveer Qamrul Islam, executive director of CEMS-Global, and others were also present.
More than 195 companies from 20 countries are participating in these exhibitions with over 500 booths.
