First-ever 3-day 'Global Sourcing Expo-Dhaka' begins 1 Dec
Representatives from more than 11 countries, including Afghanistan, China, Japan, Thailand, the UAE, and the US, will participate
The 3-day Global Sourcing Expo–2025 Dhaka will be held for the first time from 1–3 December at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, Dhaka.
At a "Meet the Press" briefing today at the EPB office, Mohammad Hasan Arif, vice-chairman and CEO of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), outlined the expo's objectives and preparations, noting that its primary aim is to highlight Bangladesh's productivity, skills, and export capabilities on the global stage.
Representatives from more than 11 countries, including Afghanistan, China, Japan, Thailand, the UAE, and the United States, will participate. Over 100 Bangladeshi companies from 8 key export sectors—readymade garments, leather, jute, agricultural products, plastics, home décor and furniture, pharmaceuticals, and ICT—will showcase their innovative products and services.
The event will feature 10 specialised seminars, more than 150 exhibition stalls, online and offline B2B meetings, networking dinners, and a fashion show. Organisers anticipate that these activities will facilitate long-term trade agreements and partnerships with international brands for local entrepreneurs.
The inauguration will be attended by Commerce Adviser SK Bashir Uddin, Industrial Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Special Envoy Lutfey Siddiqi, along with secretaries from various ministries and ambassadors from multiple countries.
The briefing was also attended by EPB Director General Baby Rani Karmakar, Md Aktar Hossain Azad, and other senior officials, who noted that, for the first time, buyers, investors, and sourcing companies from multiple continents will convene in Bangladesh for this initiative.
EPB officials emphasised that Bangladesh is now establishing its presence not only in the garment sector but across a diverse range of export industries.
The event is organised jointly by the Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce.
