Walton, City Bank signs green banking deal
Global electronics brand 'Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC' has signed an employee green banking agreement with City Bank PLC.
Under the agreement, Walton Hi-Tech's employees enjoy various preferential banking services, including payroll receipt, debit and credit card service, and personal, car, or home loan facilities from the bank.
In this regard, an agreement was signed between Walton Hi-Tech and City Bank at Walton Corporate Office in the capital on Sunday (November 24, 2024).

Walton Hi-Tech's Additional Managing Director (AMD) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Md. Ziaul Alam, FCA, ICA (ICAEW) and City Bank's Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Head of Retail Banking Arup Haider inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
The agreement signing ceremony was also attended, among others, by Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC's Chairman S M Shamsul Alam, City Bank Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser, Walton Hi-Tech's Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, City Bank's Managing Director and CEO Mashrur Arefin, Walton's AMD Nazrul Islam Sarkar and Eva Rezwana, DMD Yusuf Ali and other higher officials of both organisations.
Delivering the welcome address at the function, Walton Hi-Tech's Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam said, "Walton always focuses on providing the highest facilities to all the members of the Walton family. And thus, today, we are going to sign an employee green banking agreement with City Bank. Under this agreement, all of our members will get various financial services from the bank. City Bank will also benefit from this initiative."
Walton Hi-Tech's Chairman S M Shamsul Alam said City Bank has been providing banking support to Walton for the last several years. Through today's agreement, City Bank will extend its services to all members of the Walton family.
City Bank's Managing Director and CEO Mashrur Arefin said, "Walton employees will enjoy seamless automated salary, card facilities, and loan benefits, as well as carry out corporate payments conveniently round the clock. The City Bank has been working with Walton since 2018, and we are delighted to work with Walton."
City Bank Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser opined that Walton is a giant in Bangladesh's electronics sector. He said, "Walton is now our pride. They are brightening Bangladesh's positive image around the world through exporting products. City Bank is also one of the best banks in the country. Walton and City Bank are now united to work together, and both organizations will benefit from this agreement. Walton employees will get banking support from our bank."
After signing the agreement, the officials of both organisations inaugurated an ATM booth installed only for Walton employees at the Walton corporate office.
