ULAB honours graduates at 8th convocation ceremony
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) held its 8th Convocation on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka, under the theme "Informed Minds, Inspire Paths."
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, honourable adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, attended as the Chancellor's representative and presided over the ceremony, declaring the convocation open.
Professor Dr Mohammad Ayub Islam, member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, graced the ceremony as special guest, while Syed Nasim Manzur, managing director of Apex Footwear Limited, delivered the convocation speech.
Syeda Madiha Murshed, member of the ULAB Board of Trustees, and Professor Imran Rahman, vice-chancellor of ULAB, also addressed the graduating students, congratulating them on their achievements and urging them to use their knowledge to contribute meaningfully to society.
This year, a total of 1,508 students received their degrees, including 1,111 undergraduates and 397 postgraduates. Two students from the undergraduate and graduate programmes were honoured as gold medallists.
The valedictorian award was presented to Tashin Huq, a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate, who achieved a CGPA of 3.86.
The event celebrated academic excellence, integrity and creativity — values that ULAB continues to uphold as part of its mission to foster informed, socially responsible and forward-looking graduates prepared to meet global challenges.
