UK, Saudi Arabia launch joint aid projects in Yemen and Bangladesh
The United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia have agreed on new joint projects in Yemen and Bangladesh, pledging deeper cooperation on aid delivery, development financing, and global reforms.
From 1 to 2 December, 2025, both countries convened their third Strategic Dialogue on international development and humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, the two governments announced new humanitarian initiatives in Yemen and Bangladesh to address food insecurity and improve water access for more than 1 million vulnerable people.
A Memorandum of Understanding signed between British International Investment and Saudi Eksab will enable further technical dialogue on innovative financing mechanisms and long-term co-investment opportunities.
Both parties also committed to coordinated advocacy for multilateral reforms aimed at making international aid more effective, transparent, and responsive to global needs.
This partnership reflects a modern approach to international development, combining resources, expertise, and shared priorities to deliver life-saving support where it is needed most.
