UIU, East West University sign MOU for research collaboration
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed between United International University and East West University to strengthen research collaboration.
The signing ceremony was held at the UIU campus in United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka.
Professor Dr Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of East West University, attended the event as the chief guest, while Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, vice-chancellor of United International University, was present as the guest of honour.
The programme was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr M Rezwan Khan, executive director of the Institute for Advanced Research and former vice-chancellor of UIU.
The MoU was signed by the vice-chancellors of both universities on behalf of their respective institutions.
Among others, Professor Dr Ahmed Wasif Reza, dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at EWU, along with deans of different faculties, heads of departments, registrars, directors, faculty members and senior officials from both universities, were present at the ceremony.
Under the MoU, the two institutions will collaborate on joint research initiatives, publication in high-quality academic journals and the development of cooperative research projects between the Institute for Advanced Research of UIU and the Centre for Research and Training of EWU.
The agreement also includes provisions for exchange programmes involving faculty members, administrative officers and students, as well as research funding opportunities for faculty members from both universities.
