UIU adds 18 air-conditioned buses to student transport fleet
United International University (UIU) added 18 new air-conditioned buses to its student transport fleet on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, to improve mobility and offer students a more comfortable university experience.
The buses were inaugurated at a ceremony held at 11 am on the UIU campus, with invited guests attending, according to a press release.
Chairman of the UIU Board of Trustees Hasan Mahmood Raja attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Chairman and Managing Director of United Group and Joint General Secretary of the UIU Board of Trustees Moinuddin Hasan Rashid attended as the special guest.
Vice-Chancellor of UIU Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia presided over the ceremony, which was attended by invited members of the university's Board of Trustees.
The university has introduced the air-conditioned bus service on six major routes across Dhaka to help students, especially those travelling from distant areas, reach campus on time and return home more easily.
The service is designed to provide reliable transport and make students' daily journeys more comfortable and time-efficient.
Hasan Mahmood Raja said UIU had always given equal importance to student transport and other essential services alongside academic activities.
He expressed hope that the new service would support regular class attendance, punctuality and an improved university experience. He also advised students to focus on personal development and strive to become good human beings.
Moinuddin Hasan Rashid said United Group has always been committed to supporting a modern, supportive educational environment for UIU students.
He said the new service would help students save valuable time and improve their daily experience.
He added that United Group would continue to support the university through such initiatives to help establish UIU as an internationally recognised, knowledge-based institution.
Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia said the initiative went beyond new buses and reflected the university's commitment to creating a campus experience in which every journey represented UIU and the people it served.
He described the launch as an extension of the university's core principle of putting students first without exception.
The initiative builds on UIU's longstanding commitment to student transport. Since relocating to its permanent campus on Madani Avenue in 2018, the university has provided free shuttle services and subsidised transport on different routes.
UIU said adding 18 subsidised air-conditioned buses would expand access to more comfortable and reliable transport for its community.
Heads of different departments, faculty members, officials, students and other invited guests also attended the ceremony.
