UCB and Microsoft holds workshop on the potentials of AI in the banking sector

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries worldwide, from research and business to employment and everyday life.
The banking sector is no exception. Recognising AI's transformative power, United Commercial Bank (UCB) teamed up with tech giant Microsoft to host an engaging workshop on its potential in banking.
The event occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at UCB's headquarters, bringing together key industry leaders, including UCB Chairman Sharif Zahir, Managing Director & CEO Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, and other senior officials. Employees enthusiastically attended, eager to explore AI's impact on modern banking.
A highlight of the workshop was the keynote presentation by Yousup Faruqe, Country Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal. He emphasised how AI can revolutionise banking by making services faster, more accurate, and more customer-friendly. AI-driven chatbots and automated transaction systems can enhance efficiency, while advanced AI algorithms can detect and prevent fraudulent activities, strengthening security measures. Additionally, AI-powered data analysis can significantly improve risk management, enabling better decision-making.
AI has the potential to make financial services more accessible and appealing through automation and personalised banking experiences. The organisers believe this workshop marks a milestone in UCB's commitment to technology-driven and innovative banking solutions, paving the way for a brighter and more secure banking future.
