Two-day nuclear science fair begins at atomic energy centre
Md Anwar Hossain, secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, inaugurated the "Nuclear Science and Technology Fair 2025" on Tuesday (25 November) morning at the Atomic Energy Centre in Shahbagh, Dhaka.
The two-day fair, organised by the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) as part of Tarunyer Utsab 2025, aims to inspire young people to explore the peaceful uses of nuclear technology for national development.
BAEC Chairman Dr Md Mojibur Rahman, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) Chairman Dr Samina Ahmed, BAEC Member (Physical Science) Dr Debashish Pal, and senior scientists and officials attended the opening ceremony.
The fair features 11 stalls showcasing BAEC's research, development and service activities across sectors such as food, agriculture, environment, industry, healthcare and nuclear power generation. Students and visitors are getting the opportunity to learn about scientific innovations and technological applications that support sustainable progress.
Over 300 students from various educational institutions visited the exhibition on the first day, engaging in discussions with scientists and participating in interactive science quizzes. The fair will remain open to the public from 10am to 4pm on 25 and 26 November.
