Titas Gas disconnects illegal gas connections in Ashulia and Narayanganj

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC has been actively targeting illegal gas usage with ongoing operations. On 15 April 2025, two major crackdowns were carried out in Ashulia and Narayanganj, under the leadership of Executive Magistrate Mr. Milton Roy and Senior Assistant Commissioner Mr. Nazmul Huda. These efforts aimed to preserve resources and enforce lawful gas consumption.
In Ashulia, a mobile court led by Mr. Roy focused on the Jamgar and Itkhola areas within the Zoba-Ashulia division. Nearly 500 illegal residential gas burners were disconnected, and 400 meters of pipeline seized, saving approximately 11,334 cubic feet of gas per hour. Three establishments and two individuals were fined 1,25,000 BDT in total.
In Narayanganj, Mr. Huda's operation targeted the Kalibari Bazar, Sathbandi, and surrounding areas. The raid resulted in the disconnection of 820 illegal gas connections and the seizure of 110 feet of MS pipe. A factory raid did not lead to any arrests or fines. Additionally, the Regional Revenue Section in Narayanganj dismantled 99 double stoves and disconnected 10 illegal residential burners.
From September 2024 to April 2025, Titas Gas disconnected 29,617 illegal connections, including 230 industrial, 155 commercial, and 29,232 residential. In total, 67,12 burners were removed, and 144 kilometers of pipeline dismantled.
