State University announces new journalist association executive committee
The State University Journalist Association (SUJA) has announced its newly formed executive committee, marking the beginning of a new era of leadership for the association.
Md Kaiyum Hossain, a representative from Bangla Tribune, has been elected as the President, while Fardin Alam, of Nagorik TV (Canada), has been selected as the General Secretary.
The 11-member committee was officially unveiled on Sunday at the Scholars' Inn Seminar Room on the university's permanent campus in Bangladesh. The announcement was made by Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, the Vice-Chancellor of the university and Chief Advisor of SUJA.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Nawzia Yasmin, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, and Mohiuddin Mujahid Mahi, President of the Dhaka University Journalist Association (DUJA). Other key attendees included Dr. Ahmed Hossain, Registrar of the university, Md. Shamsul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Journalism, Communication & Media Studies, and Tito Rahman, CEO of Nagorik TV Canada.
The newly elected committee members are as follows:
- Vice President: Taki Bin Mohsin (T Sports)
- Joint General Secretary: Mishu Ali Suhas (JCMS TV)
- Office Secretary: Farhana Akter Mim (Cholonbil Probaho)
- Treasurer: Md. Belayet Sheikh (Dainik Karatoa)
- Publicity and Publication Secretary: Mahmud Hasan Rafi (JCMS TV)
- Cultural Secretary: Oishi Goswami (ATN Bangla)
