Standard bank holds 26th annual general meeting

The 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Shari'ah-based Standard Bank PLC was held on Thursday, 14 August 2025, at Police Convention Hall, Eskaton Garden Road, Ramna, Dhaka.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the bank. Vice-Chairman A K M Abdul Alim, Director and Founder, Vice-Chairman Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Directors Mohammad Manjur Alam, Ashok Kumar Saha, Ferozur Rahman, S A M Hossain, Al-haj Mohammed Shamsul Alam, Gulzar Ahmed, Md Zahedul Hoque, Ferdous Ali Khan, and Jhahedul Alam, Independent Director Golam Hafiz Ahmed, Chairman of the Shari'ah Supervisory Committee Dr Muhammad Saifullah, Managing Director Md Habibur Rahman, and Chief Financial Officer Mohammad Salah Uddin, FCS, were also present.
Observers from the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange, Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan and Alamgir Kabir, respectively, attended the meeting, along with shareholders, guests, well-wishers, and the bank's external auditor. Md Mizanur Rahman, FCS, Company Secretary, conducted the session.
The Annual Report 2024 and the Director's Report, along with a review of the bank's activities during the year and its future plans, were presented at the AGM.
In his speech, Chairman Mohammed Abdul Aziz thanked shareholders and guests for their support and expressed optimism that the bank's profitability would continue to grow, enabling the distribution of attractive dividends in the years to come. He called on all employees to work diligently to achieve these goals.
Managing Director Md Habibur Rahman welcomed the participants at the beginning of the meeting, and the gathering unanimously approved all agenda items, including the annual financial statements and audit report for the previous fiscal year.
