Southeast University holds discussion, iftar on significance of Ramadan
Southeast University organised a discussion on the significance of Ramadan, followed by an iftar mahfil, on Thursday, 5 March 2026, at the university's multipurpose hall.
Rezaul Karim, chairman of the board of trustees of Southeast University, attended as chief guest. Advocate Niaz Ahmed, a member of the board of trustees, was present as special discussant. The programme was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam.
The keynote discussion was delivered by Hafez Maulana Mahmudul Hasan Momtazi, a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah and khatib of Rahim Metal Jame Mosque. In his speech, he highlighted the teachings of Ramadan, with emphasis on spiritual purification, self-restraint, compassion and humanity. He also led a special munajat at the event.
Members of the board of trustees, the pro vice-chancellor, registrar, deans, department heads, faculty members, and university officials and staff were also present.
