Shwapno launches Mango Festival to support underprivileged communities
As part of its Mango Festival, Shwapno distributed fresh and ripe mangoes among people from disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to enjoy one of the country's most loved seasonal fruits.
The event brought together community members in a warm and festive atmosphere, creating moments of happiness and connection.
Throughout the day, participants gathered to receive mangoes and take part in the celebration.
Volunteers and organisers interacted closely with attendees, helping make the event engaging and memorable.
Beyond the distribution itself, the initiative aimed to share the simple joy of the season and encourage a spirit of togetherness within the community.
The Mango Festival is not limited to Mohakhali alone.
Shwapno is carrying out similar mango distribution activities simultaneously in several locations across the country.
In Dhaka, the campaign is being conducted at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, Mirpur-1 and Rajabari Chourasta in Turag, Uttara.
Outside the capital, underprivileged communities in Chattogram, Khulna and Sylhet are also being reached through the initiative.
Commenting on the programme, Md Mahadi Faisal, Deputy Director, Category Growth and ESG of Shwapno, said, "At Shwapno, we believe that the joy of safe and quality food should be shared by everyone. We have been working closely with farmers for years, sourcing fruits and vegetables directly from them and making them available to our customers through a reliable supply chain."
"This mango season, we wanted to extend that joy beyond our stores and share it with people who may not always have the opportunity to enjoy such seasonal treats. The mangoes distributed through this campaign have been collected directly from farmers, and through this small initiative, we hope to create meaningful moments of happiness while strengthening our connection with farmers, customers and the wider community," he said.
Through initiatives like the Shwapno Mango Festival, the company continues its efforts to support communities and make seasonal produce accessible to more people across the country.
