SBAC Bank to support CMSME cluster financing
SBAC Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to participate in the central bank's Tk3,000 crore refinance fund under the cluster financing scheme for the CMSME sector.
The scheme aims to accelerate economic growth by improving access to finance for cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises, according to a press release.
The agreement was signed at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall of Bangladesh Bank on Monday, 18 May 2026.
S M Mainul Kabir, Managing Director and CEO of SBAC Bank, and Nawshad Mustafa, Director of SME & Special Programmes Department of the central bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, was present at the signing ceremony.
Among others, Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of the central bank; Abdul Quaium Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director of SBAC Bank; Md Abdul Mannan, EVP & Head of Credit Risk Management Division of the Bank; and other officials were present.
