Sammilito Islami Bank board approves investment proposals
The Board of Directors of Sammilito Islami Bank PLC reviewed the bank's operations and approved several investment proposals at its 10th meeting on 11 August.
The meeting of the state-owned Shariah-based bank was held at Exim Bank Tower, with Board of Directors Chairman Quazi Shairul Hassan presiding, according to a press release.
The board reviewed the bank's overall position and activities and discussed measures to strengthen its operations and ensure sustainable growth.
It also considered several initiatives aimed at taking the bank forward. A number of investment proposals were approved following detailed discussion and consideration.
Board members and Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Legislative Division Secretary Dr Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury; Ministry of Finance Finance Division Joint Secretary Mohd Rashedul Amin; Ministry of Finance Financial Institutions Division Joint Secretary Sheikh Farid; Lt Col (Retd) Md Khan Sobayel Bin Rafiq, PhD; Asma Akhter, FCA; KM Zakaria; and Mohammed Ahsan Habib Chowdhury, FCA, attended the meeting.
Sammilito Islami Bank Managing Director Abedur Rahman Sikder; Union Bank Administrator Mohammad Abul Hashem; Global Islami Bank Administrator Md Muksuduzzaman; and Sammilito Islami Bank Company Secretary (CC) Md Monirul Islam were also present.
