RUTDP workshop reviews development roadmap for Shariatpur
Shariatpur Municipality recently hosted a two-day workshop under the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP), focusing on strategic municipal development.
The event, held on Monday and Tuesday, provided an in-depth discussion of the Cluster Development Plan (CDP), Capital Investment Plan (CIP), Municipal Development Plan (PDP), and Climate Resilient Action Plan (CRAP).
Municipality Administrator Md Wahid Hossain presided over the sessions.
Key aspects of the project, implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department with support from the World Bank, were highlighted.
Project Team Leader Md Abdur Rakib Khan and sector experts attended the workshop.
Speakers emphasised that the project aims to develop infrastructure, enhance economic connectivity, and establish climate-resilient urban management in municipalities nationwide.
The initiative will cover the development of urban service sectors such as roads, drainage systems, public sanitation facilities, and the modernisation of markets and bus terminals.
According to officials, more than 20 million people across Bangladesh are expected to benefit from the project's implementation.
