Rotary International strengthens welfare activities for distressed people

Rotary International Bangladesh Country Deputy Coordinator and former Governor of Rotary AKM Shamsul Huda emphasised Rotary's continued commitment to supporting distressed communities in Bangladesh and worldwide.
Speaking at a program organised by the Rotary Club of Dhaka Cosmopolitan yesterday in Dhaka, Mr Huda highlighted Rotary's role in addressing humanitarian needs. Club President Mahmudul Hasan presided over the event, which was addressed by Former Rotary Governor Ghulam Mustafa, Rotarian Rakib Sarder, Nurun Nesa Begum, Dr Omor Sharif, Ashish Kumar, and others.
During the programme, Mr Shamsul Huda presented Rotarian Abul Khair Chowdhury with a special certificate for his outstanding contributions to enhancing Rotary's public image.
Mr Huda urged Rotarians and the wider community to actively support Rotary's initiatives in poverty eradication, skill development for unemployed youth, and ensuring access to safe drinking water in rural areas.
As part of its ongoing commitment to service, the programme also distributed sewing machines to distressed women, donated to orphanages, and engaged in several other charitable initiatives.
