Robi launches commercial 5g rollout in Bangladesh
Robi Axiata PLC has begun rolling out its 5G network, making it the pioneer of 5G services in Bangladesh.
The move underscores Robi's digital credentials and commitment to advancing the nation's digital vision.
The official announcement took place at Robi Corporate Office on Sunday. Initially, 5G services have been launched at select locations in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet.

Robi said its 5G coverage will gradually expand to more areas. Customers with 5G-enabled devices within the rollout zones can experience the advanced network directly. However, coverage will initially remain limited, as the service is only accessible on devices that are both 5G-enabled and compatible with Robi's specific 5G network frequencies. This limitation is due to the small number of such handsets currently available in the market.
