Radiant Pharmaceuticals hands over two neonatal ventilators to RMC
Radiant Pharmaceuticals Limited has donated two state-of-the-art US-manufactured neonatal ventilators to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, via the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to bolster critical care for newborns.
Health Services Division Secretary Kamrulzaman Chowdhury and Director General of Health Services DG Health is Dr Provath Chandra Biswas formally handed over the ventilators to hospital authorities at 11:30am on Tuesday (31 March). Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General PKM Masudul Islam was also present.
Radiant Pharmaceuticals Director Nasirullah stated that the company would supply a total of 10 ventilators to the Ministry in phases.
He added, "Two ventilators have been delivered to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital today, while the remaining units are currently being imported."
Recent child deaths at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, attributed to a shortage of ventilators, prompted immediate action from Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul.
Following a visit to the hospital, Secretary Kamrulzaman Chowdhury stated that the new children's hospital building in Rajshahi was complete, but its launch had been delayed pending essential services and support.
He noted that an outpatient department for children would be opened soon, with plans to gradually develop the facility into a comprehensive children's hospital.
