Pubali Bank donates Tk50 lakh to Gonoshasthaya Kendra
Pubali Bank PLC has donated Tk50 lakh to Gonoshasthaya Kendra.
Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank PLC, formally handed over the payment order to Shireen Parveen Huq, Chairperson of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, at a modest ceremony held at the bank's Head Office. Deputy Managing Directors Mohammad Esha and Ahmed Enayet Manzur, along with other senior executives of the bank and Monika Rani Sarker, Director (Finance) of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, were also present.
Since its establishment in 1972, Gonoshasthaya Kendra has operated as a charitable trust dedicated to providing affordable and quality healthcare. Its Gonoshasthaya Dialysis Center is the largest kidney treatment facility in Bangladesh, serving an average of 250–270 patients per day across four shifts, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Pubali Bank PLC is the largest private commercial bank in Bangladesh, with 509 branches and 235 sub-branches across the country. In addition to its core banking services, the bank is actively engaged in various social development initiatives, including healthcare, education, environment, and disaster management.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Ali said: "We believe in contributing not only to the financial sector but also to social welfare initiatives. Healthcare is a fundamental right, and we are proud to support this vital sector."
