Prime Bank hosts World Cup-themed employee tournament
Prime Bank PLC has launched "World Cup Mania 2026–Battle of the Floors", a football-themed tournament designed to boost teamwork and drive employee engagement throughout the organisation.
Employees donned jerseys representing their favourite national football teams, infusing the workplace with the excitement of the Fifa World Cup, the bank said in a press release.
Sixteen floors took part in a round-of-16 knockout competition featuring foosball and PS5 FC matches. Employees represented their respective floors in contests that fostered friendly rivalry, strategy and collaboration.
The initiative brought together employees from various departments and levels of seniority, facilitating interaction beyond regular professional roles.
Prime Bank said the event aimed to strengthen communication, interpersonal relationships and a sense of belonging among employees. It also highlighted teamwork, resilience, strategic thinking and mutual respect—qualities the bank considers vital for a high-performing financial institution.
The bank regards employee engagement as core to building its organisational culture, rather than an occasional recreational activity. It believes that providing opportunities for recreation, creativity and interaction helps employees return to their professional responsibilities with renewed motivation and stronger workplace relationships.
As Prime Bank advances its financial performance, customer experience, technology and sustainability initiatives, it remains committed to nurturing the people behind its progress, according to the release.
Through initiatives such as World Cup Mania, the bank seeks to create a workplace where employees can build careers, develop meaningful professional relationships and contribute to a shared organisational purpose.
