By delivering banking services to people at the grassroots level, banks encourage saving habits, raise awareness about banking, and help increase individual income. These efforts also contribute to reducing income inequality. We are pleased to recognize 10 banks for their proactive work in this area. Their initiatives have enhanced the country's image on the international stage."
Dr Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director and CEO of NRBC Bank, said, "We are offering opportunities to open accounts with just Tk. 10/50/100 to include underprivileged, distressed, and marginalized rural populations under the banking system. We are also providing collateral-free loans with easy terms to support their employment. This recognition from our regulatory institution, Bangladesh Bank, will inspire us to accelerate our efforts even further."
