NRBC Bank holds workshop on OIMS, OEMS reporting
NRBC Bank organised a workshop on reporting through the Online Import Monitoring System (OIMS) and Online Export Monitoring System (OEMS), introduced by Bangladesh Bank.
The workshop was held on 21 December at the Human Resource and Training Development Centre (HRTDC) of the bank's head office. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan attended the programme as chief guest.
The training session focused on proper reporting to reduce risks in foreign exchange transactions, ensure regulatory compliance and enhance customer service through the effective use of modern technology. The sessions were conducted by Laila Akter, Deputy Director of the Foreign Exchange Operations Department of Bangladesh Bank, and Tasfia Tanjim Snigdha, Assistant Director.
Head of the International Division of NRBC Bank Hasnat Reza Mahibbul Alam, officials from relevant departments of the bank, and representatives of importers and exporters participated in the workshop.
Speaking at the event, Dr Touhidul Alam Khan said proper reporting through the import–export monitoring systems ensures accurate import valuation and timely repatriation of export proceeds. He added that preventing over-invoicing and under-invoicing helps curb money laundering and makes foreign exchange transactions more transparent and accountable. He also urged strict compliance with policies and circulars issued by Bangladesh Bank in conducting import and export activities.
