NDUB launches fourth volume of academic journal Critical Insights
Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) has officially launched the fourth volume of Critical Insights, the peer-reviewed scholarly journal of its Department of English.
The launch ceremony took place on Monday, 27 October 2025, at the university campus.
Published annually each autumn, the journal features original research on English literature, linguistics, ELT, cultural studies, and education. The latest volume includes contributions from distinguished scholars from both home and abroad, reflecting the journal's growing academic prominence.
Professor Golam Sarwar Chowdhury, Editor of the journal and Chairman of the Department of English, thanked contributors and readers for their continued support. He also shared plans to make the journal available online to reach a wider readership.
Dr Fr Charles B Gordon, CSC, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of NDUB and Adviser to the journal, expressed hope that Critical Insights would gain international recognition as a valuable resource for researchers and academics.
Dr Br Subal Lawrence Rozario, CSC, Registrar of NDUB and Publisher of the journal, emphasised the importance of academic research in fostering intellectual growth and driving positive societal change.
The event was also attended by Sami Hossain Chisty, Assistant Editor; Dilip Kumar Sarker, Member of the Editorial Board; and Tasnia Islam, Faculty Member of the English Department.
Since its first publication in 2022, Critical Insights has embodied NDUB's commitment to academic excellence, critical inquiry, and the advancement of research in the humanities.
