National University explores education ties with Philippines
National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah met Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Nina P Cainglet today (1 September) to discuss cooperation in higher education, research, and professional skills development.
According to a press release, the meeting took place today, 1 September.
The discussions focused on improving educational quality, expanding technical and technology-based education, and developing skilled personnel for the healthcare sector.

The two sides explored partnerships between National University and leading Philippine universities, particularly the University of the Philippines, in technical, healthcare, and tourism education.
They also discussed connecting Bangladeshi students with Philippine healthcare professionals to strengthen their skills and create training opportunities for nursing assistants.
The ambassador assured cooperation in introducing bilateral exchange programmes for National University teachers, researchers, and students, and in expanding scholarship opportunities for meritorious students pursuing higher education in the Philippines.
Both sides agreed to pursue joint training and technical skills development programmes at National University, drawing on the Philippines' experience in healthcare, nursing assistant training, information and communication technology, and tourism.
During the meeting, Professor Amanullah briefed the ambassador on the university's ongoing reforms and academic plans.
"In this era of globalisation, exchanging knowledge and experience with renowned Philippine universities will help our students achieve international standards," he said.
Cainglet praised National University's extensive academic network and its contribution to expanding education in Bangladesh. She also pledged the Philippine government's support for educational cooperation.
National University International Desk Director Raj Bin Kashem, officials from various university departments, and senior embassy representatives attended the meeting.
The two sides exchanged commemorative mementos at the conclusion of the discussions.
