National round of Robot Olympiad on 25 September

The national round of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Bangladesh 2025 will be held on 25 September at United International University (UIU) in Dhaka, where around 200 students will compete for the chance to represent Bangladesh at the WRO international final in Longaput this November.
For the first time, regional rounds were organised this year in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rangpur, from which 70 teams qualified for the national stage. The contest will highlight the creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills of young robotics enthusiasts.
Competitions will be held in four categories—Future Engineers, Future Innovators, Robomission and Robosports—across three age groups: Elementary (8–12 years), Junior (11–15 years) and Senior (14–19 years). Of the national participants, 42 teams will compete in Future Engineers, 16 in Future Innovators, 20 in Robomission and 2 in Robosports.
The day-long event will start at 9am with registration, followed by competitions throughout the day, and conclude with a prize-giving ceremony at 4pm. Professor Dr Abu Saleh Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of UIU, will attend as the chief guest.
Ahead of the national round, WRO Bangladesh held 14 activation programmes across five districts, engaging nearly 2,000 students in robotics workshops and encouraging participation. Bangladesh has been taking part in WRO since 2020 and has secured notable achievements every year.
WRO Bangladesh 2025 is jointly organised by WRO Bangladesh (WROBD) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN), with The Daily Independent as media partner and The Business Standard as media standard partner.
