National Bank launches ‘uttoron’ to restore trust and retail growth

National Bank PLC has launched a new nationwide campaign titled 'Uttoron – Rise Again, Rise with Trust' to strengthen its retail banking portfolio through targeted efforts in deposit mobilisation, consumer financing, and credit card services.

The formal inauguration was held on 1 July 2025 at the bank's head office in Dhaka. Mr Imran Ahmed, Managing Director (Current Charge) of National Bank, inaugurated the campaign as the chief guest.

In his remarks, Mr Ahmed said, "Recently, we received a strong public response to our third subordinated bond programme—despite ongoing concerns in the banking sector. This is a clear indicator of the public's enduring trust in our institution. With that momentum, the 'Uttoron' campaign aims to expand our service outreach, enhance financial inclusion, and offer robust, reliable banking solutions to customers nationwide."

The campaign will feature customised deposit schemes, competitive consumer loan offers, and credit card services tailored to meet the evolving needs of retail clients. It is part of the bank's broader roadmap to re-establish operational stability and customer confidence.

Also present at the ceremony were Kazi Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director (In-Charge); Md Abdur Rahim, Deputy Managing Director (In-Charge); and Md Meshkat-ul-Anwar Khan, Deputy Managing Director (In-Charge). Milton Roy, Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking and Foreign Remittance Division, along with divisional heads of various departments, were also in attendance.

Regional heads, branch and sub-branch managers from across the country participated virtually, reflecting strong internal engagement in the campaign's goals.

National Bank's leadership reiterated its commitment to proactive banking reforms, customer-centric innovation, and rebuilding stakeholder confidence. The 'Uttoron' campaign is expected to catalyse repositioning the bank as a trusted financial partner across diverse market segments.
