Nagad marks new milestone in digital finance with record transactions
The Bangladesh Postal Department's digital financial service, Nagad, has set a new record for the highest monthly transaction volume, processing over Tk34,705 crore in October. In recognition of this achievement, Nagad authorities extended their appreciation to the company's millions of registered customers for their continued trust and engagement.
Since its inception, Nagad has rapidly become one of the country's most popular and trusted mobile financial services. Both its customer base and transaction volume have grown steadily over the years. Building on this momentum, Nagad has now surpassed all its previous records, marking a new milestone in its growth journey.
Earlier, in March 2025, Nagad's monthly transaction volume stood at Tk34,000 crore, while in June 2024, it reached Tk32,000 crore—underscoring the MFS operator's vital role in accelerating Bangladesh's transition towards a digital financial ecosystem.
The disbursement of government allowances significantly contributed to October's record performance. Last month, the Department of Social Services and the Department of Women Affairs distributed allowances among 7.9 million beneficiaries through Nagad. Additionally, regular activities such as cash-in, cash-out, money transfers, bill payments, and mobile recharges further boosted transaction volume.
Congratulating all customers, employees, entrepreneurs, and partners, Nagad Administrator Md Motasem Billah said, "Success never comes by chance; rather, it is the outcome of collective effort and dedication. When everyone works together with a shared vision and values, striving for excellence becomes much easier."
He added, "As the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad continues to move forward with improved services and stronger assurances for customers' money. Confidence in the current management has grown significantly compared to previous years, driving sustained growth in transactions."
During the record month, Nagad also logged its highest-ever single-day transaction volume on 15 October, when customers carried out transactions worth Tk1,645 crore.
With continuous innovation and customer-focused services, Nagad has maintained steady growth in both reach and reliability. The platform continues to attract new users daily through its mobile app, further strengthening its position as a leader in Bangladesh's digital finance landscape.
