MTB hosts 4th Annual Risk Conference

Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) successfully hosted its 4th Annual Risk Conference on 14 December 2024 at the Samson H Chowdhury Auditorium, MTB Tower, 111 Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Dhaka. The event, held in a hybrid format, highlighted MTB's dedication to strengthening its risk management culture while aligning with regulatory expectations.
The theme of this year's conference, "Risks, Regulations, and Opportunities: Preparing for the New Operating Environment", reflected the bank's proactive stance in tackling emerging challenges.
A.N.M. Moinul Kabir, Director of the Department of Off-site Supervision (Division-2) at Bangladesh Bank, attended as the Chief Guest, while Robin Chandra Paul, Deputy Director of the same department, was the Plenary Speaker.
MTB's Managing Director and CEO, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, chaired the conference, with Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, Additional Managing Director and Group Chief Risk Officer, hosting the event. Tahmina Zaman Khan, Deputy Head of the Risk Management Division, served as co-host. The event also saw the participation of MTB's senior management team and more than 400 attendees, including branch managers, branch operation managers, customer service officers, and executives from both the branches and the head office.
Discussions centred on navigating emerging risk landscapes and enhancing MTB's resilience in the face of a rapidly evolving operating environment. "We are always in the pursuit of establishing a robust risk management infrastructure where the tone at the top guides us with knowledge and expertise," said Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of MTB.
The conference underscored the critical role of effective risk management in securing stakeholder trust and reaffirmed MTB's commitment to building a resilient organisation capable of meeting future challenges and opportunities.
