MTB foundation supports eye care services for underserved groups
As part of its commitment to improving healthcare in Bangladesh, MTB Foundation, in partnership with Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital (IIEI&H), has organised a "Community Eye Health Partnership for Preventing Avoidable Blindness of the Ethnic Community" in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.
Samia Chowdhury, chief executive officer of MTB Foundation, attended the programme.
A large number of underserved people from ethnic communities received essential healthcare services, including eye screening, medicines, prescription eyewear and surgeries such as cataract, pterygium, Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and Dacryocystectomy (DCT). Awareness sessions on primary eye care were also conducted as part of the camp.
More eye camps are scheduled to take place in other parts of the Sylhet division later this year.
