MTB Foundation distributes bicycles to female students in Chattogram
To mark the bank's 26th anniversary, MTB Foundation distributed free bicycles to underprivileged, high-achieving female students from various schools in the Chattogram region under its 'Swapno Sarathi' (The Dream Chariot) programme.
The initiative aims to reduce mobility-related barriers to education for female students, guided by the campaign motto "Distance should not stand in the way of attending school", which emphasises enabling safer and easier travel to and from school.
MTB Foundation stated that the programme reflects its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The distribution ceremony was attended by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of MTB Foundation; Mohammed Ishaque, Regional Head of MTB Chattogram region; Syed Mahmud Akhter, Divisional Head, Wholesale Banking Division 3; Myful Akther, Branch Manager, MTB CDA Avenue Branch; Md Kamal Hossain, Branch Manager, MTB Chattogram Medical College Branch; Kazi Md Rezaul Karim, Branch Manager, MTB Nazumeah Hat SME and Agri Branch; Md Iftekhar Ahmed, Branch Manager, MTB Rahattarpool Branch; and Mohammed Abul Hashem, Branch Manager, MTB Banshkhali Sub-Branch.
