MRCP PACES Examination Conducted in Bangladesh
The MRCP PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) exam was held at Evercare Hospital Dhaka from 11–13 November 2025, marking a major milestone for medical training in the country.
A total of 45 young doctors from Bangladesh took part in the examination at the nation's first JCI-accredited hospital.
Evercare Hospital Dhaka is the first institution in Bangladesh to host the MRCP PACES exam. Since 2012, Bangladeshi candidates have been able to sit for the written components (Part 1 and Part 2) locally, but the lack of a practical exam centre forced them to travel to India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, or the UK — a financial barrier that prevented many qualified doctors from participating. With the full exam now available in Dhaka, the development has been widely welcomed across the medical community.
The Federation of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, played a key role in organising the internationally recognised exam. A delegation including Dr Stuart Hood, Chair, PACES Dhaka, and four representatives oversaw the assessment. Fifteen senior Bangladeshi physicians also served as examiners. The exam was conducted locally under the leadership of Prof Quazi Tarikul Islam, Federation Lead, Bangladesh, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK.
From Evercare Hospitals Bangladesh, CEO Dr Ratnadeep Chaskar, Group Medical Director Dr Arif Mahmud, and Deputy Director of Operations and Hospitality Mohammad Kamal Uddin Siddiqui extended full support to the programme.
The establishment of the MRCP PACES centre at Evercare Hospital Dhaka enables Bangladeshi doctors to complete the full MRCP pathway without leaving the country, strengthening accessibility to advanced medical qualifications. The PACES exam will now be held at Evercare twice a year.
