Midland Bank extends Tk10 lakh aid for Korail fire response
The Midland Bank family has provided Tk10 lakh in financial assistance to Sajida Foundation, a charitable organisation supporting the Korail slum fire relief efforts.
The bank contributed Tk5 lakh from its Islami Banking Fund as part of its corporate social responsibility activities, as part of its commitment to social well-being, while the remaining Tk5 lakh was donated by Midland Bank family members.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, handed over the cheques to Muhymin Chowdhury, Director of Impact Investments and Partnerships at Sajida Foundation. The programme was held on 9 December 2025 at the bank's head office.
The Midland Bank family stated that it extended the support in recognition of Sajida Foundation's charitable activities and its service to vulnerable communities.
Among others, Farhin Ahmed Twinkle, Coordinator of Partnership and Fundraising at Sajida Foundation; Md Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution and Chief Bancassurance Officer; Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer; and Md Bajlur Rahman Khan, Head of CRM and Head of the Sustainable Finance Unit at Midland Bank, were present at the handover ceremony.
