MetLife, Global Citizen launch football challenge
MetLife and Global Citizen have launched 'Footwork for Futures,' a global football-themed social media campaign.
It aims to expand access to quality education and sports for children and youth, building more confident, resilient communities.
Participants in Bangladesh and worldwide are encouraged to post short videos of themselves juggling, or trying to juggle, a football on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or X with #FootworkForFutures.
For each eligible video, MetLife will donate $5 to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, up to $100,000. This supports groups that provide education and sports programs to children worldwide.
This campaign adds to MetLife Foundation's $9 million commitment as a founding donor to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports grassroots programs that combine learning and sports.
'Football can unite communities, and together with education, can create opportunities. Through Footwork for Futures, we make it simple and engaging for Bangladeshis to support this global cause,' said Ala Ahmad, CEO of MetLife Bangladesh.
The campaign is open globally to anyone aged 13 or older, regardless of footballing skill or experience.
Participants can be creative, whether experienced or new to juggling.
The campaign runs from 12 May to 19 July or until the donation cap is met.
All entries must comply with the relevant social media platform rules and the campaign's terms and conditions, including participant age and content safety.
To be eligible, videos must clearly show one individual, aged 13 or older, safely juggling or attempting to juggle a football; unsafe or group submissions are ineligible.
Global Citizen reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not meet these criteria.
Join the movement—visit the Footwork for Futures website now to learn how to participate, share your video, and help make a difference for children worldwide.
